Cael | 7 Months

Seriously?  Yes, seriously!  You are the cutest child on the planet, I'm convinced.  Not a single day passes that we aren't tickled by you and your growing personality.  This month was so much fun!  I miss the "baby" you...but we are having a BLAST with the little man you are growing into.  We jam-packed this month with exciting adventures, and as always, you handled it all very well and made each one more fun than the last. At the beginning of the month we had a Mommy and Cael date to the Manassas Air Show.  You loved watching all of the airplanes and skydivers, and the shuttle there and back was on a school bus (yes, a little tricky with a sleepy baby, a stroller and a diaper bag...alone...but we bossed up and got on and off without falling!). Then we went to Ohio for Mother's day weekend with a quick trip to Tiffin to visit the University and meet some people you hadn't met yet, then headed to Papa and DD's house for some R&R.  You started army crawling this month, and being a ninja with unbuckling yourself out of everything.  You just laugh when I say..."look what you did, you 'escap-ehhh' (in Dori voice and pronunciations from "Nemo")"  Truth is...childproofing became a reality when we walked into your room in the morning and you greeted us with standing up in your crib!  We have our hands full with you...and love every second of it.

Height:  Not sure because we didn't go to the doctor this month.  You are getting very tall!

Weight:  Same as height.  We are guessing you hit the 20 pound mark this month though!

Head Size:  18 1/2 inches (95th percentile)!!

Size:  Still wearing size three diapers; Almost exclusively 9-12 and 12 month clothing, but still squeaking out some of the 6 month onsies; Size 2 shoes; and (funny to say, but sooo not surprised) 12 month hats

Sleeping:  About the same as last month.  To bed and asleep between 8 and 9, and wake up between 7:30 and 8:30.  Naps are pretty consistent too...morning nap around 9:30-10 for about an hour and a half, then afternoon nap almost always between 1-4.  Still loving sleep, and that makes us so happy!!

Eating:  Starting solids has been so fun!!  I love making yummy food for you to try.  So far, we have been through most veggies and fruits since we haven't had to wait between new things.  The only thing you have shown any allergic reaction to, which stopped after a few more times of trying, was strawberries.  It just caused a red/bumpy rash around your lips for an hour or so after eating it.  It's sort of neat and bittersweet that you are on a "human" eating schedule now...nurse at wake-up, breakfast (milk, oatmeal (still made with breastmilk for now...but the production is going down a bit, so we might have to switch to water for that), and a fruit), lunch (milk, and a veggie), dinner (milk, oatmeal, and a veggie/fruit), then an 8 1/2 ounce nighttime bottle (we have done this since birth for a few reasons...nursing at night puts baby to sleep waaaaay too soon due to comfortability...and it also allows momma to have her wine at dinner since I don't pump until 11/12).  We are so happy that you have been exclusively breastfed, and still going!  Especially happy because lets face it, from what we hear, formula is EXPENSIVE! haha

Playing:   This was a fun month of showing you new things! You love to empty your toy bins, pulling everything out around you and then rolling all over it until you decide which toy to play with.  You are VERY good at playing independently for awhile so that we can get something done quickly (shower, clean, cook dinner...) but you are loving playing with others too (cousin Harper and Waylon are your favorite playmates!).  You love to be outside, and play in your pool!  Playing on your piano is also your new favorite thing!  Your favorite toy is still your jumper for sure!!

Milestones: Standing up on everything!  You even pulled yourself up in the tub (yikes!) and your crib!  This brings on a whole new set of toys to play with!  Not really sure we should count it as a milestone...but from what we are told and read, it is one of the first signs of language...you are spitting blowing raspberries on everybody and everything.  You sprouted your first little tooth, but it is taking it's sweet time coming all the way through.  You are taking baths now in the big tub.  Toward the end of the month, you started army crawling...which means you are getting into EVERYTHING!  We sit you in the front of the shopping cart now at most stores if you are awake, which makes things a little interesting for us since you grab everything.  And for the first time, we sat you in a restaurant high chair, and you loved every minute of it!

"Caelisms":  You are a people lover, and flirt with everyone in sight (and maybe stick your tongue out at them too!).  You love to make dinosaur and bird noises, and squeal so loud we have to cover your mouth while laughing hysterically in public (church, mostly).  You are a ninja.  There is no way to get mad at the things you come up with, because we are so impressed by your ninja skills (for now, while it's still harmless...haha).  As you will see from the pictures, you have learned to unhook the five-point harness and tray that is clipped in on your bouncer seat, when I got in the shower to you sleeping in it on vibrate.  You love to sleep outside, even if it's not nap time (almost like the sun and wind wear you out to the point of a quick snooze).
