We have been unbelievably blessed going through this new adventure. Not only have we received some really great advice from friends that recently had children...but the amazing gifts received are so overwhelming! I know people love babies, but this little boy has no clue how much love and "family" he has surrounding him already. God truly knows how to make Daniel and I feel His incredible works through the love and friendship we have with everyone in our lives who have spoiled us rotten with everything to prepare us for this new chapter.
First we had our Virginia shower. Our friend Meagan offered to host it, and it couldn't have turned out any better. It was a fun "lunch with the girls" at home, filled with lots of laughs and of course, presents for baby boy. We played the "guess how big the belly is" game, and a name/word game that was a blast. My sister-in-law took some amazing pictures, and here are a few!
Our fabulous hostess!

Some of the guests...love that babies came too!

The loot!
The next weeked we headed home for our Ohio shower! This was a whirlwind of a weekend (they always are...but that's what makes them fun and so worth it!). It started with family dinner the first night, and opening gifts from Mom for the baby.
A huge toy tub fulllll of goodies!
Clearly, I am not amused by this onesie. "Good looks courtesy of Dad"...really mom?!
And of course, the toy tub becomes a washing machine for our nephew...he is too cute!
The next day was the PARTY!! So many visitors came in from out of town, it was amazing. Instead of keeping it strictly for the women, we had it more of just a party/cookout, complete with all different kinds of soups with bread, snacks, and of course, cake! The day could not have been more perfect, including the weather! Mom planned a fun game that forced Daniel and I to work as a team in changing/dressing a crying baby. It ended perfectly with an Ohio sunset that we miss so much. And, my amazing dad knows me so well and capped off the chilly night with a bonfire!
The soups!! YUMMO!
The party crowd!
Lots of cupcakes and goodies!
Everyone wanted to touch the (very large) belly!
Teamwork at it's best!
Opening gifts under the shade tree...couldn't have been any more perfect!
Mom created the invites and asked people to bring/sign books for the baby, instead of a greeting card. This was the most amazing thing in the world! Needless to say, I got a bit teary with every book received with a sweet message.
Neat motorcycle made from diapers...courtesy of Mom and Dad Gilbert!
My rock, and my everything. <3 They know how to make a girl feel special and host one hell of a party!
I miss these so much. Not that Virginia doesn't have beautiful sunsets too...but you can't beat these every night!
WOW! That is a lot of loot!
The next morning, we had a send-off brunch for Daniel and I, Grandma and Papa Dolinski who drove down from Michigan. It was fun to get a few laughs and hugs in before hitting the road. Loading the car was an OCD challenge...but thanks to my inherited packing skills from my father, I got it all in easily!
"Are you sure you have to leave Uncle Daniel?" :(
As if we weren't spoiled enough by having TWO showers for baby boy...our Stafford Wrestling family surprised us with precious gift baskets at the parent's meeting. We were blown away by the love and gifts received. There was a diaper cake, and a gift basket which included home-made bibs (with Stafford sceenprints(!!)...pictures to come!), burp clothes, and a blanket. We were so surprised and overwhelmed!
