36w appt: You Spin My Head Right Round

Yesterday, we had our 36 week appointment, filled with fun!  I was 36 weeks, 4 days...and VERY curious about any progress.  First we had an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok if I were to go into labor, check his size and fluid, etc.  Here are his stats:

Current estimated weight:  6 pounds, 13 ounces
Body Measurement/Gestational Age:  38 weeks
Head Measurement:  40 weeks, 98 percentile
Heartbeat: 131 beats per minute
Presenting:  Head down, ready to go...but face forward/up

Next was to check momma, do the group B strep swab, and talk about everything that will happen very soon!  Here are my exciting stats:

Cervix dilation:  2-3 centimeters (woop woop!)
Effacement:  70%
Weight gain: 4 more pounds, putting the total to 25 even
Blood pressure:  120/80...perfect compared to the usual!

We were thrilled!  Thank goodness all of these "practice" contractions were actually working hard at something and not just making me uncomfortable the past week or so.  The only concern the doc had about me delivering right now is that his presentation is still face up.  So, from now until my next appointment (Tuesday morning), I have a list of do's and don'ts to get him to turn his little head around and face backward.  Basically anything I can do to make myself uncomfortable and leaning forward....and NO more reclining no matter how swollen my tooties get, or he will get comfy in the face-up position!! I've been put on "bed rest" until next Tuesday so that I will be considered full-term and hopefully he will get the hint to turn around.  I told her I had to finish up some projects at work because I have three trials next week...and a busy weekend ahead.  She said that I really have to listen to my body and do nothing else more than I have to or I WILL have this baby! haha  She could feel his head, and he still isn't completely "settled" into go-time position...so fingers crossed we can make it work!

So...downward dog while watching TV with the hubby, and lots of relaxing in my near future.  I hope to get him to turn before Tuesday!  I talked to my mom, and she told me that she was also face up, so the doctor had to turn her while inside grandma. :)

If you need a good laugh today...this is what I'll be doing until Tuesday!!
